Those are my emotions, and feelings that you stepped on. Those aren’t just lips that you kissed. They’re a part of me, just as much as my heart is. 

So I hope you’re happy that I cried, and I hope you’re laughing it up with your friends. I hope when I see you at school tomorrow, you look me in the eyes and don’t see anything wrong. 

I hope all of this, because one day, someone will crush you. And then we can commiserate, and I can remind you of the girl that I once was when I see myself in your eyes. 

I don’t understand your need to constantly put me down, throw me around, and treat me poorly. I will never understand your need to hurt me. 

But know this. I am stronger because of your oppression. I am a better person, not because of you, but because of me.  

Because of how I’ve handled this. 

I was a victim, but I refuse to be victimized. 

I hope you see this, and I hope you hang your head in shame.
